Frequently asked questions.

Getting started

What does my AI employee actually do?

It answers your customers on WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook, checks your stock, takes the order, sends a payment link, and confirms when the money lands. You just see the result.

How long does it take to set up?

There's no setup. Your AI employee starts working the moment you sign up, and most merchants take their first order the same day.

Do I need to register my business first?

No. You can start selling immediately and register through Klovo later, when you're ready to make it official.

Do I need a website or design skills?

No. Describe your business and Klovo builds a storefront and brand kit around it.

Payments & account

Do I need a bank account to start?

No. Your AI sends payment links that settle straight to your own bank account, so you can collect money from day one with no Klovo account at all. Opening a Klovo business account is optional, for when you want your business money in one place.

Is Klovo a bank?

No. Klovo is a fintech. Your account is a real NUBAN held at a CBN-licensed partner bank (Wema, Providus, or Anchor).

Whose name is the account in?

Your business's name once registered, or your personal trading name until then.

How do I get paid?

Your AI sends a payment link in the chat. The money settles to your own bank account, or to your Klovo account if you open one, and your AI confirms the payment automatically. No screenshots, no 'have you paid?'.

How do I read my statement?

Every payment is tied to an order, customer, and channel, sourced from the account ledger — not a recomputed number.

KYC

Why does Klovo need my BVN or NIN?

It's how your identity is verified before a real bank account can be opened in your name, in line with CBN requirements.

Is my identity information safe?

BVN and NIN are processed by licensed KYC partners (NIBSS, VerifyMe) and masked everywhere in the Klovo interface.

What happens if I skip identity verification?

Your AI employee, your shop, and payment links to your own bank account keep working. Verification is what unlocks the optional Klovo business account and its money features.

Fees

What are the payment processing fees?

Standard Nigerian processing fees apply (typically around 1.5%). See the Pricing page for full detail.

Is there a monthly fee to use Klovo?

The core plan is free to start; paid plans add AI credit packs and extra tooling. See Pricing.

Do I need to pay VAT?

Small businesses below the threshold are not required to file VAT. Klovo's Tax module will tell you when you cross it — informational only, not tax advice.
